"I met Amanda when I was 35 weeks pregnant and we had an instant connection. I was young and feeling unsupported and misunderstood by my OBGYN, family, and partner. I openly shared with Amanda my fears of birthing my baby in a hospital and also my resistance to a home birth. Her genuine empathy and compassion inspired me to trust in my body and follow my heart to my ideal birthing experience. With the care of a midwife and Amanda by my side, I was able to deliver my daughter in the comfort of my home.
Amanda's wisdom and encouragement were nourishing sources of physical and emotional empowerment through late pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Her prenatal support was pampering, strengthening, and informative. I will forever remember the light in her eyes when she walked into my birthing environment, the light that I connected to and the light that I trusted. Through labor, she practiced therapeutic massage and breathing techniques. She guided me to my birthing pool and I squeezed her hand as she supported my body through delivery. Postpartum, Amanda helped to mediate internal conflicts I was struggling with as well as external conflicts within my familial relationships.
I honestly believe that Amanda's kind and gentle soul was divinely sent into my life. Without her, I do not think I would have had this ideal and empowering birthing experience, an experience that I cherish and hold dear in my heart. She continues to be a supportive friend and motivational figure in my life. Amanda is a model of feminine strength and her presence is truly a blessing."

"Wow, Where do I start? Amanda is the most AMAZING doula!! My husband and I were blessed to have had her by our side in the labor/delivery of our son Daniel. Right from the start, Amanda was very accommodating with us as we told her two weeks before my due date that we wanted her to be our doula. She made every effort to get to know us and learn what we wanted for our birth experience.
Unfortunately, my labor spanned over a two day period, but regardless Amanda was with us every step of the way. I couldn’t believe how involved she was even though my labor went on forever. Amanda was extremely attentive to my needs, whatever they may have been. From coming to my house at 3Am to then taking a walk around the community at 5AM-she did it all with a sweet smile and soothing voice. She massaged my back, made sure I was walking regularly and changing positions, constantly asked me how I was doing, bringing me water, and just showering me with all her love and confidence in me that I could do it. When my labor wasn’t progressing we went to the park to walk around, then we put up laundry of all the new baby clothes; she was doing everything and anything to get my mind off the pain. There were many times during my labor that I felt like I couldn’t go on and Amanda was right there lifting me back up.
If anyone I knew asked me for a doula I would definitely recommend Amanda in a heartbeat!! She is sweet, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and so comforting. She was not only a doula to us, but a friend and we want to thank her for everything she did for our family!"

"As a midwife providing care in both home and birth center settings I have come to truly respect the art of Doula care. I have had the opportunity to witness many woman labor with the support of sensitive Doulas. While I understand that training and experience are key to providing optimal support, like midwifery, I believe being a doula is a calling. I have had the opportunity to observe Amanda work with laboring women on severval occassions. I am clear that she has indeed been called to guide women during their transition into motherhood. Her innate ability to follow a laboring woman's cues coupled with her massage expertise is invaulable. She exhibits a maternal passion and skill when handling the human body. She also possesses intuative counselling skills, essential for supporting anxious family members. As Midwives we can trust that our clients are in capable hands as her birth etiquitte is exquisite. It anchors and motivates the energy of the birth room. Working with Amanda means collaborating to provide the highest physical, emotional and spiritual care possible. I believe we are both nurtured by the experience. Our coopertive effort is the embodiment of the possiblities in midwife/doula partnership. I am truly grateful. It is an honor to celebrate her as a member of our community of birth workers. "

"I first met Amanda through our community of birthworkers and healers. Her warm and caring spirit left an impression on me. When we both supported a pregnant laboring woman, with myself as the midwife and Amanda as the doula, I was able to witness this warm and caring spirit in action. Amanda was, and is, intuitive, gentle, and compassionate. She could sense what was needed without having to say too much. I, too, feel blessed to have received Amanda's support after the birth of my son. After my son was admitted into the NICU during a postpartum complication, Amanda provided me some much needed bodywork. What was so moving about it, was that she made it so easy for me to communicate what I needed, again without having to say too much. During that vulnerable time, her knowing and presence was incredibly supportive. Her healing hands and spirit, intuitive nature, and kind compassionate ways, are several of her many gifts to supporting people during some of the most vulnerable, powerful, and transformative parts of our lives."
